CAW has welcomed several new members from diverse backgrounds in the last few months. We are pleased to share a little bit about some of these new members here.

Alex Maxwell is a New Hampshire resident, was raised along the coast of southern Maine, and is now the father of one curious coastal explorer. As an engineer and urbanist by training with over 12 years of experience, his work has broadly focused on environmental planning, design, and sustainable development. Alex serves as a senior environmental planner and project manager at Fuss & O’Neill where he works on municipal vulnerability preparedness projects, environmental impact evaluations, and coastal and climate resilience master plans and engineering projects. In becoming a member of CAW, he looks to (1) expand his network of coastal practitioners and stewards (especially those with a keen interest in coastal adaptation and resilience) and (2) learn how others are exploring and implementing best practices in coastal adaptation and resilience in NH.

Lindsay Butler has 20+ years of experience in providing civil engineering services on a variety of public and private infrastructure and water resources management projects. Her experience encompasses all phases of project development and she has a strong background in stormwater hydraulics and hydrology in both tidal and freshwater systems. Ms. Butler is currently working as the Town Engineer in Newmarket, NH, and is committed to providing high-quality service with a focus on public health, safety, and the environment. She is excited to become an active member of CAW and hopes to bring new ideas, technical expertise and a municipal engineering perspective to CAW membership. Additionally, involvement in CAW will help Ms. Butler to grow her professional network within the region and allow her to get more involved in regional efforts to conserve, protect, and improve our shared water and natural resources.

Ms. Butler has lived and worked in New England her whole life. She grew up in Maine, obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) in Massachusetts, and currently resides in Seacoast New Hampshire with her husband, three daughters and two cats. In her free time, Ms. Butler enjoys spending time with family and friends doing a variety of outdoor activities like skiing/snowboarding, hiking, camping, swimming and playing tennis.

Bill Davis, SeaEO & Founder of BeachNecessitries.com, an eCommerce site forging the online shopping experience for the $15B+ US beach gear / goods market with a focus on sustainability. When I am not at the beach, I like to play hockey, spend time exploring coastal northern New England and hanging out with my daughters. I joined CAW because I am concerned about the impact climate change is having and going to have on our coasts.

Makayla Edgecomb is the Environmental Conservation Planner for the City of Dover, NH. In her position she oversees the Conservation Commission, Open Lands Committee, and the Forestry Sub-Committee. Makayla graduated with her Bachelors of Science from the University of New Hampshire in Community and Environmental Planning in 2023 with two focuses, one being Conservation and Sustainability, and the other being Business. She is excited to join CAW and believes that becoming a member “offers a unique opportunity to actively contribute to creating a more sustainable and adaptive future for the community by collaborating with others in this field, and help design practical solutions to protect vulnerable populations from the impacts of climate change.” Outside of work Makayla enjoys traveling and trying different foods.
